Puerta Escondido

Arrived around 8 or 9. Late. Looked at a few and settled on the Ben Zaa. IT’s a cabana type place, run by a very nice couple Steve and Maria. Maria’s family is from that area, I believe, and Steve is from Canada. $25.
PE had a surfing contest going on. There were a bunch of surfers, and chicks that wanted to meet surfers. The vibe was a little weird. Outsiderish, I guess. We were invited to a wedding that Saturday by Steve, who was catering it, but ended up not going after we cruised by and it was more formal than we’d thought.
We found a local celebration party/music thing one night in a large square. There was a carnival, too. We saw the Dutch ladies again that night, who were fun to chat with. Evidently in Holland no one owns guns and they’re ultra-submissive, expecting someone to rob them sooner or later. Very weird indeed.
