Guatemala to Panama - Car Rental

Planning on flying into Guat and renting a vehicle there to drive down to Panama. Having issues finding a car rental agency that will let me do this. I suppose my biggest concern is with border crossings. ANY suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated....

You can't drive across
You can't drive across Panama, but it's not the canal that's the problem.
The Darien Gap is a rainforest with no roads that stretches across eastern Panama near Columbia. There is a 51 mile gap in the road network in the Gap.
I really doubt you will find this to be possible.
