Traveling from the US to Honduras
Hey guys, how's it going? Alright....so I spent last fall in Honduras studying abroad and now its summer time and I am looking to do something fun! I was thinking about buying a cheap car, driving from Michigan to Honduras, giving the car away or selling it, and flying back. I'm a college student and I speak pretty good Spanish. Does this sound practical? Would anyone be interested in traveling? The only thing I'm worried about is getting lost and danger running into gangs or anything, especially in southern Mexico.
Any ideas and help would be great!
Alex
Sounds reasonable to me! I hate to say "don't worry about security", but the drug gangs don't want to kill you, they want to kill their rivals / police. An ugly thing, but don't travel at night, and keep out of the big cities.
But you were going to do that already, right? ;)
Let us know more when you can...

We (Dad and I) are planning on going to Eastern Brazil via maybe Hondourus. We don't have any real travel plans as to the directions yet. We probably won't know until we get there. We would like to stop bye and see son/brother in Hondourus just to say hello. We are Biblical Students and in 1984 we went to the Middle East and it turned out to be a six month trip. Interesting things are foretold for Mexico southward.
