Violence in Mexico
Hey guys recently got back from panama,my friends here say that the news has been full of voilence in mexican border towns, anybody got any info?,my father is slowly making his why up that way from honduras. thx rob
thx man, does anybody know which texas border? We came down through brownsville , but are thinking about taking the west coast route back.Any info is much appreciated.
Its not a big deal if you are just passing through. If you are coming through Sonora the border crossing at Nogales never even goes through the town.
probably gonna take the west coast home, any shitty towns to avoid?
Are you going through Baja or Sinaloa/Sonora? I did a long day between Mazatlan and Hermosillo to avoid staying in towns like Culiacan, and its totally doable though you will want an early start. It isn't a particularly long day from Hermosillo to Tucson after that, and Hermosillo is pleasant with excellent beef to eat.
good 2 know,thx
I want to drive down and then leave the car there for another trip in the following year. I wasn't sure that was possible but read that you drove down and flew back. Did you leave your vehicle? Sell it? Store it?

yes, there's been some recent issues in the texas border. 5-6 guys were killed about a month ago in a shootout with the federales, and they killed (another) police captain in Juarez.
That's about all I've heard of. Don't spend time on the border!
