I was wondering what the deal is with visiting the ruins of Calakmul. Do you need a guide? Are you allowed to camp there? Is it safe to camp there? Are there a lot of tourists?
I'm unsure about that... When we were there there was literally ONE other car. It was awesome. There's a bunch of resorts in the area... but it's a short drive back to the town.
