Just back from Central America

Hello all! My father and I just returned from our two month trip to Central America. We had a great time! Two months may seem like a long time but it was a whirlwind tour visiting all seven countries in Central America and also traversing Mexico. The people were great, the places we saw were spectacular and the only thing I can say is: go for it and you'll have a great time! Never did we feel physically threatened or uneasy about our personal safety. The only problem we ever encountered was the Policia or Military and then it was a matter of "how much"? But again, if you're thinking about going to Central America, the best thing to do is just go. I will admit, driving through the first city we encountered in Mexico (Tampico) was one of the most intense, nerve wracking experiences I've ever had in my life but after a while, you learn how to handle it and just drive through. I hope to be reading about more travelers that "go against the grain" and head to Central America. I'm no expert by any means, but if you're thinking about making the trip and have any questions, feel free to ask.
